Episode Intro
So, I don’t know if you know this, but one thing that I do inside of my community, the Productive Entrepreneurs Club is every week I share a motivational pep talk to really help my members start off the week on a good foot.
And today I’m bringing one of those episodes to you. So tune in to not only get an update about where the heck I’ve been, what’s been going on with me personally, but also to listen to one of these motivational pep talks for yourself.
It’s unedited. It’s unscripted. So it’s a little bit different than what I’ve shared before, but I hope that you enjoy it.
Hey, I’m Lucy Reyes, your host of the Cheerful Productive Chats Podcast, where I’m on a mission to help online entrepreneurs like you focus on all the right things and kiss overwhelm goodbye. Here, you’re going to learn strategies that will boost your productivity so that you can scale your online biz and impact lives sooner. It’s your time to shine so let’s get started!
Personal Update
Hello, hello and welcome back to the Cheerful Productive Chats Podcast. Oh, my gosh. I know I have been MIA here for a while, but you know, it is summer. And while I was not expecting to take a summer break from my content creation, that is what it’s looking like for me.
And I am actually okay with that, because that just means that I am prioritizing my time with other things that just make sense for me right now in my business and what I have going on during the summer, because my kids are both home. I mean, I usually have my toddler with me but I usually have her nap time. Just quietness because my son is at school during that time.
But now, he’s with me during the summer and sure we rotate, so he goes with his dad one week, then he’s coming home with me for the other, but that’s messing with my daughter’s schedule because now she doesn’t know whether her brother is going to be home or not.
She’s sad or she’s extra happy and they’re fighting, or they’re not. In fact you might even hear them in the background as I’m recording this because you know what, I wanted to record this.
And I mostly just wanted to give you a real life update to what has been going on because even though it might not seem on the outside like I have been doing a lot, I feel like I’ve been doing a lot because I have been having pretty productive days and just going through other tasks that I haven’t gotten to in a while.
But it did come at the cost of some things, right? Like I haven’t recorded a reel, which I actually enjoy doing but I haven’t recorded one in, I don’t know, like two to three months maybe. I’ve been posting somewhat on Instagram, a little bit on my stories, but that’s not like quote on quote “consistent”.
And don’t even get me started on my mom blog. And then obviously the podcast has been a little quiet these past few weeks, but it’s all okay.
Get On My Email List
I mean, I still have my email list, which is always number one priority. So if you’re not on my email list and you definitely want to get on it.
I have a free quiz that you can take. So if you go to cheerstoproductivity.com/quiz, you can take a free quiz to find out what type of planner you are, and you will also get a personalized podcast playlist to help you with whatever type of planner you are.
And that is how you can get on my email list, because that is always my number one priority.
What Are These Motivational Pep Talks?
But the other thing that I’ve been working on a lot, because I honestly have not gotten a chance to dive into this with all of the other things that have been going on is my membership.
So the Productive Entrepreneurs Club has gotten so many updates and optimizations insight and some new perks, and I’m having a blast in there.
And one of the things that I do every single week is record a podcast episode, which is called the Motivational Pep Talks, and it’s a short, bite-sized pep talk that is centered around a quote.
I basically give a perspective on it and a pretty positive pep talk to help you start your week on the right foot, because we all go through mindset stuff. I know I do. A lot of times they’re reminders for me too.
And that I don’t miss. I do not miss those and so he figured, let me just pop one in here for you. Let me just show you what it is that they’re listening to every single week and just help you see what it’s like.
But I’m going to be honest. Those are very raw, very real, no editing, no nothing. Like I get on my microphone and I just hit record at the end of the recording, I just chop up the beginning and the ending to take off that extra space.
But everything else, there’s no music. There’s no editing like I do for these podcast episodes, which is why it’s so hard for me to even get back into the routine of getting these done.
But you know what? I wanted to come back and just at least give you an update to what has been going on and why I’ve been MIA from the podcast, but also to bring you one of these motivational pep talks that I have shared with my community.
And if you want to join us, then come visit cheerstoproductivity.com/club. That is where you can get these delivered to your private podcast every single week, along with a bunch of other perks that I’m not going to get into, but that’s the link if you want to check it out.
The Motivational Pep Talk from the PEC Private Podcast
And now without further ado here is one of our weekly motivational pep talks from our Productive Entrepreneurs club:
Hello! Hello! And welcome to our first official weekly pep talk.
Our weekly motivational pep talk where I’m going to share a quote with you every single week to help kind of set the tone, the mood for the week and just give you a little bit of inspiration, a little bit of motivation, to help you tackle all of the things that are about to come your way this week.
So the quote that I’m going to start with, the one that I’m going to kick this all off with is one that I have been following, and I have like everywhere, and I have for years like on my Facebook page, on my Instagram page, and I’m talking about my personal ones. I have followed this quote since high school and it’s been a real big driving force for me, and I feel like it could be for you too.
So the quote that I want to share with you today is,
“The more you believe in your own ability to succeed, the more likely it is that you will.”
Now, I think this is so, so powerful, so impactful because I don’t know about you, but I like validation. My love language is where I like to be told that I’m doing a good job. I like recognition. I like words.
And so whenever I was working, you know, in corporate America, when I was working at the bank, when I was working in retail, I always did things to make sure that I had an outstanding performance review and that my managers noted that I was doing a great job so that way they could then tell me that I was doing a great job. Like that is what made me feel good.
But then we get into this online space and there is no one really to tell you that. You don’t have a boss. You are the boss. You don’t have a manager, you are the manager. You don’t have a CEO, you are the CEO. So besides your friends, besides your coaches, like who truly knows your business, the way that you do? Probably no one. No one above you.
They don’t know your business the way that you know your business just like they don’t know your life the way you know your life. So it gets, that’s why this quote is so powerful because it’s like you can’t outsource your belief in yourself to someone else. It kind of reminds you to be like, “Well, you know, if no one’s going to believe in me, then who will, right?”
I mean, I think that’s actually another quote but you have to believe in yourself. You can’t focus on what other people are doing, what someone else achieved, what didn’t happen and just focusing on all the negatives. Like, you can’t do that.
And I actually have a full podcast episode on my public podcast that I’ll link to as well where I’m talking about not comparing yourself to someone else because I know that can really kind of do the opposite effect of you believing in yourself, right?
If you maybe found a business friend and you started in this together and now, you know, one of you is more ahead than the other. And now you’re like, “Well, what am I doing wrong? Like what am I doing wrong? Why are they so much more ahead than me?”
And that’s not the type of mindset, mentality that you want to be in. You want to focus on yourself and you want to be your biggest fan. You want to be your biggest cheerleader. You need to be the one that’s going to motivate you and inspire you.
Inspire yourself and just believe that you are where you’re supposed to be in the time frame that you’re supposed to be in. Like everything is happening the way that it should, even if you don’t like it.
Like I, myself, am a super impatient person. Like I am so impatient and these pep talks are honestly going to be reminders for me too because I’m right there with you. It’s like, “Well, why am I not more ahead?”
Right? I think we might all have some sort of thought that comes in like this, but in reality it’s like, no matter what thoughts are coming into my head, at any point, I believe in myself. I know that I’m going to succeed and I want you to get to a place where you believe the same, where you think the same.
So no matter how many times your product doesn’t sell, or you didn’t reach your goal, or your launch flopped or you didn’t land that clients, or you weren’t accepted in a bundle or summit, or whatever it is, those things will no longer matter.
Like not that they won’t matter, but they won’t bother you as much, I should say because you know that you’re going to succeed anyways. Like that is just one more thing for you to evaluate. That’s just more data for you to improve on. That’s just more information that you can then use when you pitch your client again, when you apply for bundles again, when you launch again.
And so the more you keep this in mind, the more you truly, truly sit back and you’re like, “I believe in myself. I know that this is going to work. I know that…”
Let’s go 20 years from now. Let’s not go a year from now because I know that usually seems unrealistic. But imagine yourself 20 years from now?
Do you think your business is going to be popping? That’s only where that came to be right now. But do you think it’s going to be like, where you want it to be? Maybe not where you want it to be, but better than it is now? Like, think about it and hopefully you’re like, “Yeah! I mean, that’s 20 years.”
So, if your business is going to succeed, then nothing that you “fail at” matters because they’re just part of the journey. And in reality, there’s going to be another quote that I’m going to share about failure because you don’t really fail. But that’s a whole conversation for a whole other day.
But I just want to kind of end with this, which is you believe in yourself. And when you go into everything that you do with the mindset and just knowing, just knowing that you believe in yourself and that, you know, that your business is going to succeed no matter what.
When you truly, truly believe that everything else that brings you down will become irrelevant because you’re going to know deep inside that it’s a part of the process.
Yes, you can be upset about you not reaching your goals or things not going as planned or you thinking that you failed at something or that your launch doesn’t go, you know how, how many people you wanted to sign up or how many things you wanted to sell or how many clients you wanted to land, like whatever it is, you can feel bummed about it.
But in the end, you’re going to be able to get right back up and brush your shoulders off and then look at what happened in a more practical way to see what you can learn about that experience and what you can take on with you moving forward because you’re going to know, “Everything that just happened is just helping me get to the next step.”
And so if you truly believe in your own ability to succeed, the more likely it is that you will because you’re going to be able to approach everything in a whole new different way and you’re not going to really let anything bring you down. Because no matter what, you already know that you’re going to succeed anyways.
So, and that is what I want to leave you with today because it’s… You know, it’s Monday! It’s like you probably have a lot on your plate. You have a lot of tasks on your to do list. But just remember… You might have something big coming up. You might have your own launch of your own or, you know, you might be doing something fun, or new, or scary.
But just know that no matter what, you are going to succeed. I mean, I believe in you and you’re here. You’re here and I’ve connected with many of you and you’re in this, you’re in this.
So I believe in you but you got to believe in yourself too. So go on. Go with this week and just tackle everything with a positive mindset and just know that no matter what you’re going to succeed anyways. And so that means you can really get through anything.
