Episode Introduction
I know that sometimes as bloggers, especially as new bloggers, it’s hard for us to get out of our heads. Our brain likes to play tricks on us and tell us all these different lies that don’t seem that bad, but in reality, they could really be holding you back from achieving your full potential. So in today’s episode, I’m going to talk you through three blogging truths that you need to believe
So that you can grow your blog into the profitable business that you desire without it taking you years and years to do so. Are you ready? Let’s jump in.
Hey, I’m Lucy Reyes, your host of the Cheerful Productive Chats Podcast, where I’m on a mission to help online entrepreneurs like you focus on all the right things and kiss overwhelm goodbye. Here, you’re going to learn strategies that will boost your productivity so that you can scale your online biz and impact lives sooner. It’s your time to shine! So let’s get started.
Hey, Hey, welcome back to the Cheerful Productive Chats Podcast, episode 17. Now, today I’m going to be talking to my blogging friends, especially my newer bloggers, because we have some things to talk about.
My Journey as a Blogger Juggling “All the Things”
In case you didn’t know, I started as a blogger myself. I started with a lifestyle blog that then turned into four separate blogs.
And now I’m only active on two, because you know, priorities. However, during my crazy entrepreneur journey, there’s been one glaring thing that I’ve learned. And learn the hard way by the way. And what I learned is that you actually don’t need to hustle harder and try to do everything in order to be successful.
And if you’re like me when I first started, I was doing everything myself, which meant I needed to get smarter with the way I did my blogging tasks. I mean, I started my blog as a side hustle while I was working in an incredibly demanding job in corporate America and it was so stressful. It was so demanding.
Now this was before my baby girl came around, but I had my son, he was younger. And he was in sports. He still is in sports. He’s in soccer, and I had just become a homeowner. So I was trying to juggle all of these different things while trying to build up an online business that I had no idea, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
And now with my baby girl, it’s a whole new level of trying to juggle the different things. So I did transition and I no longer work at my corporate job.
But now I have a baby girl who is incredibly, you know, needing my time all the time. She’s a toddler. She’s one years old and she’s with me all of the time. My husband works in construction, so he has a very non-set schedule and I really don’t know when he’s going to be getting home until the day before, maybe a few hours before the day ends.
So yeah, there’s a lot of things that you have to juggle. And when you’re trying to juggle it all while trying to learn how to run a successful blogging biz, when you might not even be convinced that you’re a business owner, because maybe you’re not making money yet. It can get quite overwhelming and stressful.
3 Blogging Truths to Believe to Get Ahead
So I want you to not waste any more time and avoid the entrepreneurial burnout. Okay. But before that, there are a few things that I want to get super clear on because our wild online world is sometimes a little bit misleading. And I want to give it to you how it is. Okay.
So here are three truths that I want you to start believing today if you’re a blogger.
Truth #1: You’re more than just a blogger
So truth number one is you are more than just a blogger. Believe it or not, you are a business owner. Yes, you. You, listening to me right now. You are more than just a blogger.
If you’re listening, that means that you’re in my world. And if you’re in my world, that means that you’re trying to learn how to get productive so that you can grow an online business.
So even if your blog isn’t making the income that you want yet, you’re still working to build up an online business that will impact you, your family and others in the world throughout your content.
So I know that back in the day, blogging was more of a journal type of thing online where you kind of just talked about your personal life. And it was more like an online diary. And probably people in your family still think that. They still think that about bloggers and they don’t realize that blogging is actually a lot of work. It’s all a lot.
You are wearing so many different hats and you are not just blogging. You are writing emails to send to your email list about your mom post. You are creating graphics and maybe you’re not even a graphic designer or you never thought of yourself as someone creative, and now you’re creating graphics.
Like who knew you would be creating graphics when you became a blogger? You’re promoting your stuff. Are you used to selling? Maybe not. Maybe you are, but now you’re a marketer. You are on social media so you’re an influencer. You wear so many different hats. So you are more than just a blogger.
And even if you are not making the kind of money that you want yet, or even if you’re still making $0, you are still a business owner. Every single person starts with zero. Okay. So believe it. You need to believe this into your core in order for you to be successful.

Truth #2: It *is* possible to grow your blog while juggling life
Truth number two is that it is possible to grow your blog while juggling life. Even if you’re working full time or even if you have other responsibilities, which I know you do. You can still have a successful blog and achieve your goals.
Sure, your timeline will vary depending on what you actually do have going on outside of your blog. But if you really want to make this thing happen, you can.
I talk a lot about mindset on this podcast and one of the biggest things that I have always believed, and because I have believed it to my core, it has helped me so much with everything in life and it’s: you yourself have to believe in yourself. You have to be your biggest supporter. You have to be your biggest fan. You have to believe in yourself.
If you don’t believe, then how can you expect someone else to believe? Whatever you believe is true. And I said this in the last episode, whatever you believe is true. So whether you believe that you can, or you believe that you can’t, it’s going to be true. Okay.
So if you want to manage and run and grow a successful blogging business, even though you have all of these different things going on in your life, then believe that it will happen, believe that it is possible and watch it happen. Watch you do you okay. You can grow your blog, your business while juggling all of the different life things.
And in episode six, I do talk about some blog scheduling tips to help you get more things done so definitely reference that episode if you do want to learn a little bit more, how to juggle all of the different things and manage your schedule a little bit better.
Truth #3: The sooner you implement systems, the better
All right. Truth number three. You don’t need to wait until you’re successful to implement systems. In fact, the sooner you can implement strategic systems, the better off you will be.
When you have smart systems in place, you’ll always know what’s your priority, what to focus on and what you don’t need to do right now.
Let me tell you a little secret. I have a summit coming up in October. That is a few, by the time this episode releases, it should be within a few weeks. And I asked all of my speakers to give me one productivity tip that they all wish they had implemented in their business sooner.
And a lot of them mentioned having systems in place. So this isn’t just coming from me. This is coming from experts as well. Okay. So it’s not just me, that’s saying this. You need to have systems in place. And if you have no idea what I’m talking about, when I say strategic systems, then definitely head over to episode 11 and listen to that one because I have a whole episode on it.
Plan & Implement Systems
But in the meantime, if you want to get on the list to know when my summit is going to happen, then head over to cheerstoplanning.com and you can get on the list because we’re going to be talking all the things blogging and all the things, organization and planning and printables. So definitely go get on that list.
But if you know that you want to implement strategic systems right now, if you have heard the episodes, you have heard all the things and now you’re like, yes, Okay. I will implement strategic systems.
Episode Wrap-Up
But the point is once you accept all these truths, So truth number one. You’re more than just a blogger. Truth number two. It is possible to grow your blog while juggling all the life things and truth number three, that you don’t need to wait until you’re successful to implement systems.
Once you accept these truths, you’ll allow more positivity and growth to flow all around you. I know it can be hard to think some of these things at times. But in all honesty, these thoughts aren’t going to go away.
So it’s up to you to work hard on accepting these truths and believing them to your core and not letting other negative thoughts get in the way of you reaching your blogging dreams.
It is amazing what you were doing, what you are putting out there, the transformations that you’re trying to give to your people. The impact that you’re trying to make on your blog readers. It is so important and people need to hear you and your message. They need to read the stuff and learn from you.
So being a blogger is a big job. You are doing amazing things but you need to believe that. Okay. So my friend, I hope that you’re leaving today’s episode, feeling inspired and more like the true business owner that you are. You can truly do anything that you set your mind to do. And I believe that you’re here for a good reason.
And I mean, here as in the online space. You’re here to impact lives and that’s where you’re going to do. You just have to believe at first. All right. Until next time my friend. Have an awesome week.
